Edinburgh Community Learning and Development Partnership

By 2021 community learning and development activity will have enabled people, particularly those people who are more vulnerable or disadvantaged, to make positive changes in their lives and in their communities though learning.

The Edinburgh Community Learning and Development Partnership (ECLDP) is responsible for co-ordinating a multi-agency response which supports primarily disadvantaged and vulnerable groups and individuals to engage in learning, personal development and active citizenship, bringing about changes in their lives and communities.

ECLDP is responsible for the development and delivery of the Edinburgh Community Learning and Development Plan and reports annually to the board on the plan’s progress.

ECLDP has its own governance arrangements and is chaired by Laurene Edgar, Director, Lothian Association of Youth Clubs. Membership of the partnership includes:

  • City of Edinburgh Council
  • Edinburgh College
  • Edinburgh Leisure
  • Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council
  • Lothian Association of Youth Clubs
  • NHS Lothian
  • Police Scotland
  • Skills Development Scotland
