Scottish Community Planning Outcome Profiles
​This online tool developed by the Improvement Service provides a set of core measures at datazone and intermediate zone level, including health during early years and later life, safer/stronger communities, health and wellbeing, and community engagement. Communities are given a ‘vulnerability’ score which takes into account a wide range of indicators across these areas.

Scottish Burden of Disease Study: Health Loss in City of Edinburgh
This report summarises data from the Scottish Burden of Disease study for the Edinburgh City region, giving estimates of the leading causes of disease and their impacts on mortality and morbidity.

Scottish Public Health Observatory (ScotPHO)
ScotPHO provides a wide range of information and data pertinent to population health and its determinants. A key resource is the profiles tool which provides data on over 250 indicators on health and wellbeing, mental health, tobacco, alcohol and drugs.

Scotland’s Census Interactive Maps
Scotland’s Census was last conducted in 2022 and this site allows users to create interactive maps with census data (such as population demographics, household types and self-reported health outcomes) over a wide range of geographies from output area upwards.

Scottish Schools Health and Wellbeing Census: Edinburgh City Supplementary Tables
A school-based survey of young people’s health and wellbeing was conducted in 2021 in Scotland, with 16 of 32 local authorities taking part (including Edinburgh, but no other Lothian council areas). This site provides data in aggregate form from this survey, including information such as self-reported health outcomes, health-behaviour engagement and social determinants of health such as the presence of trusted adults and relationships with parents and school staff.

Lothian Public Health Survey Results
NHS Lothian’s Public Health Intelligence Team conducted a health survey of Lothian’s population in 2023. This report provides summary statistics, split by age, sex, ethnicity, deprivation group and local authority across the included topics such as physical and mental health outcomes, engagement in health-related behaviours, and the distribution of the building blocks of health.

Edinburgh Partnership Survey Results
Edinburgh Community Planning Partnership conducted a survey of adults across Edinburgh’s four localities on topics pertinent to its Local Outcome Improvement Plan (LOIP) such as neighbourhood satisfaction, transport, leisure space and facilities. This report provides summary statistics and breakdowns of data by socioeconomic deprivation, employment status, age, sex and ethnicity.
