Mapping exercise of emergency and community food provision Edinburgh

A Mapping Exercise of "Emergency and Community Food Provision in Edinburgh" was carried out by Diffley Partnership as part of Edinburgh’s Cash-First programme of work, funded by Scottish Government.

This work follows on from Ending Poverty Related Hunger Report’s recommendations. The report outlines a fragmented picture with over 99 different food provisions provided by 38 different organisations. The risks to the provisions are unstable funding, a reduction in food donations and significant reliance on Fare Share and a reliance on a volunteer workforce. Recommendations outline the importance of Evidence Based Decision Making, Developing Services, Services Connecting to one Another and Upstream Approaches.
